Adventure and extreme exploration of the planet with a conscious love to preserve the planet definitely runs in my family. I'm so proud of my scientist boy working on a mission in one of the biggest and extraordinary reservoirs in the US: Tongas National Park in Alaska. Here Mathias is having fun on his day off visiting one of the most stunning glaciers in Alaska: LeConte Glacier, a 21-mile (34 km) and 1-mile (1.6 km) chunk of ice! Just diving into 37°F = 3.8° Celsius glacier waters... good thing is summer! In the face of climate change and the depressing natural disasters like wildfires, floods, hurricanes, melting sea ice, etc, Le Conte is a key massive area for scientists who can still discover new things to have a better understanding of the dangers of climate change and the importance of understanding glacial melt and its consequences in our ecosystem. LeConte Glacier has been melting much more quickly than what scientists previously predicted, scientists discovered. So let's try to take care of our planet, by doing little things at home like avoiding plastic, and preserving the purity of our waters and forests.
A photography paradise and adventure with my sister @murdocco_music and @iantolondon. The Torrent de Pareis in Mallorca is considered the most extraordinary and dangerous excursion and one of the wonders of the island. Only my brave sister was willing to drive for an hour and a half through the most dangerous narrowest curvy roads along high scary amazing cliffs to get to the beaches among the rocky Mountains, a canyon of more than 3 kilometres.
Is there anything more wonderful and intense than a mother-and-child’ love?

When non traditional portraiture fits your personality and/or your profession, is when I have fun playing with digital canvas with unplanned results. This was a studio shot with a black backdrop and tons of backlight.

Such a joy to work with these little ones! Until babies turn 1 month old, they are considered newborns. However for photography purposes, the younger is the baby the better to work with more artistic poses that are only possible when they are very small. So plan your shoot the first week and up to the second week after they are born if possible. On the other hand, babies with just a few days old, sleep more and are more prone to collaborate during a shoot, than babies that turn one month old and older. Well... their personality is already developed and that really starts to show very soon!

I truly admire artist Judith Pestronk, I did her portraits in 2010 in New York City at her apartment. Can you believe she was posing like a star at 89 years old! A sculpturist, a jewelry designer and a professor of art at Nassau Community College, Judith Pestronk is now 100 years old! See my previous post to see her recent portraits, she still poses like a star! The only difference is that this time she did not put on makeup. The jewelry she is wearing are her own designs. Nilo Sánchez was the stylist that made her look so beautiful in the photos here. @nilosalonstudio
100 years old! It was such an honor to do portraits of 100 year-old artist Judith Pestronk on her birthday! It has been 11 years since I did her professional portraits for her career as a sculpturist, jewelry designer and as a Professor of Art at Nassau Community College. Still incredibly lucid, Judy gathered with friends and family in Central Park to celebrate her centennial birthday. Before her retirement, Judy has exhibited her body of work vastly, and has received various distinctions and awards for her sculpture and jewelry. She taught art history, sculpture, and design and was honored with a distinguished faculty achievement award for 27 years of excellence in both the classroom and the studio. She used to work with rock, wood, glass, gold, silver, steel, stone, twigs, even old cogs. June is Pride Month, and I'm so proud of this amazing handsome couple: Jairo & Alan. This was one of my most favorite wedding' shoots. Their happiness during their special union at City Hall that day, is something I will always cherish and take with me in my heart.

When I work with newborn babies, something fascinating happens in my heart: I get a sense of happiness that I can’t explain. Thank you to all the moms that trust me with their precious babies. Their trust is a privilege I take very seriously.

The tutu is rarely their favorite outfit. Newborn babies always have the last word in regards to outfits and styles. So I only got this shot with the tutu, because Amara definetely said "no tutu!"

Sophia in a bucket! This beautiful angel was 23 days old when we did the photo session. My newborn bucket was too small for her so I got this bigger one, so she could sleep comfortably and relaxed in it :)
